If I hear
one more person liken Desperate Housewives to Sex & the City I'll fucken scream.
S&C - four beautiful women: DH - ditto
S&C - a character does some narration: DH ditto
There the similarities end.
S&C - sharpest scripts
ever: DH - nothing much happens, ever
S&C - good acting: DH - doing the best they can (ref: previous point)
S&C - relevant (everyone's been single): DH - few of us are OCD, super rich, cheating mannequins and not everyone is/has been/wants to be fucking married!
S&C - honest, real topic treatment (rimming, shaving, female ejaculation, need I continue?): DH - trite little comments like 'Waunita realised it wasn't the men her daughter-in-law
did talk to that were the ones she had to watch out for'.
I've tried, but I really cannot see what anyone likes about this shit. It's so unoriginal.
Saw Ocean's Twelve. Better than I expected. Gorgeous scenery (Rome and Amsterdam, not Brad Pitt - not my cuppa) and pretty slick. Somehow it does miss the mark of the first one, but that's not to say it's not worth a look. Especially if you've got an Orange Wednesdays voucher!
