Les Deux Alpes photos

Snowboarding photos at last. iPhoto is a pile of crap and I couldn't be bothered to mess about with it much. No action shots yet, P has all of those…can't wait to see my boardercross jumps! I love boardercross…

Went surfing twice at the weekend, conditions were good but I was shit. One surf at Fistral, 3ft I suppose. Got thrown off Lusty cos there was lifeboat practising, went, er, somewhere else, only me and one other guy but I couldn't catch a cold at the moment. I've regressed to the level of complete kook and I hate it. So I'm getting myself fitter and trying to get in as much as possible. I also need new boots or I get the worst cramp. I hate winter, I want warm water. Portugal at the end of May - booking on Friday. Thank God.

sambuca

My birthday 8 april…going to Perranporth on Friday night then back to Newquay, then out in Newquay Sat night, meal at Red, and hanging around at the Surf Relief Day stuff. Going to get pissed and fall over on the dancefloor - again. Have huge bruise from last weekend. But it's going to be fun, sambuca £1 anyone?!

Surf looks okay for this weekend, bring it on, it's flat as at the moment!

surf first

One minute sun, next driving rain. Sought shelter at the Harbour Wall, small and cleanish, but too crowded. Caught a few but the most fun was jumping off the harbour wall…still, at least I got wet. Last time for a while, unless I go tomorrow…it'd have to be good. Have so many other things to do b4 I leave, but surfing comes first.

Bye bye Newquay with your tiny waves, crap weather, players and endless work, hello sunshine and snow!

snowboarding

Nationals was cool, weekend was the usual blur, Bugga are ace. Surf was shitholes, again. Winter is no good for intermediates, I've decided. It's either six feet and out of control/too powerful or onshore tiny mush. Very frustrating. Had a little surf Friday, gave up trying to paddle out at South Fistral 6ft closeouts, Tolcarne was 2ft closeouts no better. Practice late takeoffs then go straight. Yawn.

Surf's shit but who cares - I'm getting out of here and going snowboarding for a whole week!! I'm so confused about so many people and things right now, some more than others, that it's going to be great to be out of Newquay.

Word is that Newquay's getting a dry ski slope built - we're the only county currently without one. So cool – I move from one place with one to another! (ond Cymru am byth wrth grws). Time to get my own board and bindings, looks like about £100 on eBay will do it. Ramps here I come.
