obsession

Have discovered via my brother's obsession with this girl and StarWars a little thing called Twitter, which is what I am doing in my, ahem, 'breaks' from dotting the i's and dropping the e's.

I think I'll use it to write poetry - one line at a time, each carefully crafted (hm) and standing alone, which will only to come together fully formed through the magic of Twitter, Blogger and my patchy web design skills. If the SurfGirl blog gets some interest, I'll make girls on SurfGirl photo trips/weekends update the blog for me with it. Things like "It's 30 degrees and I'm sipping rum watching Kirra fire".

As an aside, I'm getting some free flipflops and an amazing (cough, expensive) Batman belt.

sat

Had the best surf for ages at Towan. Slight onshore which means it doesn't dump as much. Quite peaky for the Bay in fact! The waves were stepping loads as well - made one where I hopped down three steps! So quite happy with that. Wave count was high too. Rest of the weekend was fun as well, mostly.

How to Shower: Women vs. Men

gnarly

mmmmmm

a room of one's own

Have started to get up an hour early so I can get ready for work, do my sun salutations and walk by the sea. Then I’m on my bed with the laptop for an hour of peace, quiet and writing. I think this will become one of my favourite new habits!

random

I want to grab that bit of the new Mac adverts where whatsisname says, “Hello, I'm a Mac,” and have my Mac say that when I boot it up, or wake it up. Can I do it? I'm sure I can. AudioHijack and that other utitily I can't remember the name of. Do I have the time to waste? Hmm.

I have such bad wetsuit rash I look like someone's been gnawing on my neck. I should be…etc.

Have decided to have more categories on here than just surfing and update it more. Just cos it's writing practice, not because anyone (important) reads it!

Fave new phrase - “I would wear his ass as a hat”

Morocco

Ahhh, Morocco was lovely! A great way to recover from my little brush with pneumonia. Didn't surf all that much as I'm as weak as a kitten, but Panoramas was a standout, five waves in ten minutes, unheard of for me! Devil's Rock and Imsouane as well. Left Anka's to the hassly, sexist pig crowd. Think we got some good photos for the mag and I met/renewed acquaintance with some wicked people.

Seems people either love or hate the place. Get a hire car and get out of Taghazoute, I say. And give it (and especially the people) a chance. Pretty stinky place too though. Food great, weather great, 3/2 wetty, warm water, roads great (hilariously scary), hire car abuse to the max with no extra charges (Stickers on the windscreen? Are you joking? What about the hole in the floorpan?), no alcohol to stop the dawnies, markets AMAZING but had little time to shop, boo…so all good. And cheap.

Anyway, now I'm back and trying to get fit. Three surfs this week go me - the Bay though, so no need to get excited. First surf, two okay waves, second, one wave, today - no waves. Surf more = get worse! Low tide closeout tiny crowded with groms icecream head grr.

Flights from Newks to Cork – really I need my van if I'm doing Ireland, but still…it's a great thing.
